Healing Salt

It was in 1843 that the concept on which halo therapy is based was first published by a physician. After observing the remarkably low incidence of respiratory conditions in salt mine workers who were regularly exposed to air saturated with saline dust, the concept of salt cave therapy was born.

The Dead Sea salt rooms are equipped with a special "salt generator" which grinds the salt into very tiny breathable particles and blows them into the air. The smell in the salt room is a little like that at the Dead Sea and visitors experience a salty taste on the lips.
